Welcome! I’m Jason, the tutor at TeachMeCompSci. I am a Computer Science teacher with over fifteen years of experience in the classroom. I have taught and led departments in high-achieving schools both in the state and independent sectors. Over that time I’ve also undertaken a wide variety of work with an examination board and authored several textbooks. More importantly than this Computer Science is a subject I love and one I enjoy teaching to others. Mastering computer science offers opportunities no other subject can. Why have Tuition?

There are many reasons people choose to have tuition. Sometimes they want help with a particular topic they are struggling with, other times they want more regular support. Computer Science can seem a daunting subject initially. Having someone take time to work through concepts with you can allow you to progress at a much faster rate than they would otherwise.

One area that students can find particularly challenging is programming. Programming has a very steep learning curve, to begin with. The computer returns a sea of meaningless error messages and your code won’t run. Having a tutor can help you make sense of this and get you to the stage you become a confident programmer. I am happy to tutor students learning Python, Java, C#, and Visual BASIC.

There are superb Computer Science teachers out there, but sadly they are in short supply. Many schools struggle to recruit teachers experienced in the subject. Some students feel they aren’t making the progress they would like; having a tutor can help give them the boost they need. Other students aspire to competitive university courses and want a tutor to push them and give them the experience to help them stand out from the crowd.
